#41 : Sunday 22nd May
#41 done and dusted, number of remaining runs is now in the fifties π
Was fairly easy today, weather was warm when I started around 11.30am.
I was raring to go, only ran a couple of km at parkrun yesterday, had to abandon the run to help a fellow runner that collapsed ahead of me.
Felt fresh and strong today.
On friday I had a complimentary sports therapy massage from Joe Brocklehurst and my legs were as good as new π
Just before I started my run I decided to find a 2.1 km loop around the Estate and repeat it 10 times!
I left a bottle of cold water on my front lawn, saving me from carrying it for a couple of hours.
I kept seeing the same people over and over again, mainly dog walkers, neighbours, people working on allotments and Julie walking my beagles Chester and Evie π
Also saw Rihannon and her dog Mikai on km 8 and 12, and the second time I stopped for a selfie π
After five laps I thought I couldn’t do it for another five times so I decided to carry on towards town centre for the remaining 10k and to the Quarry (more photos and selfies), along the river to Castlefields and back home.
Really enjoyed it today and I promise I will take it easy next week and will try to do an extra run .
733 miles left, getting closer to halfway π
#42 : Tuesday 24th May
#42 completed early in the morning π
Was a perfect day for running, a cool breeze blowing, sun shining and a beautiful blue sky.
I only had one day recovery since number 41, but I could have done a “Forrest Gump” today, I could have run and run and run and was disappointed to stop at 13 miles.
Parked the car at the Coop in Radbrook, and without a planned route I just explored new places, around Radbrook, Oxon, Shelton, Bicton.
Stopped for a few photos and selfies with “welcome to Shrewsbury” signs, a billboard with a pic of a steak, church and graveyard, a cigarette shape chimney and a grand looking house and finished my run at 1:43′
No toots to mention today.
58 runs and 760 miles left and today was the extra run I had to do so Shrewsbury Half would be number 50, which means next one is in a couple of days , yeayyyy π
#43 : Thursday 26th May
#43 completed at 2pm today.
That’s three Half Marathons in five days!!
I picked the route I was supposed to run on Sunday when I got bored of it and carried on towards town centre. This time I persevered and ran 10 laps of a 2.1km route around the Herongate Estate.
It was boring to be fair, only advantage was that I didn’t have to think too much about which way to go π
It was also hard to find anything to take a picture or selfie with, that’s probably why I finished in a good time of 1:40′ π
At the halfway point, I turned round and ran the laps in reverse, just to spice things up a bit π
No toots to mention, but saw lots of dog walkers I know, it’s terrible but I seem to know the dogs names but not the owner’s !! So I will quickly mention a few of them:
George(dogs name, not owner), Lola, Bailey, Patch
I’m pleased to say that I have run an extra one this week, which means Shrewsbury Half Marathon will be number 50 instead of 49 π
I’m also two ahead of schedule and still have two weeks holiday in the bank to use (saving them for now in case of unexpected injuries)
Here are the stats so far: 563 miles (907km) done and 747 miles (1203km) remaining (easy peasy!)
Fundraising has reached Β£542 which is below the Β£1 per mile target π¦
